VIRES Simulationstechnologie Gmbh announced a new special effect extension to their v-IG image generation system. The new extension allows high fidelity rendering of wet roads and adds considerable realism to overall rainy weather simulation.

Some highlights:
- Reflections of environment on the road
- Reflections of car headlights on the road
- Objects occlude headlights
- Rough street surface using normal maps
- Ability to use a control texture to control wetness
